Triluna Film was founded in 1991 as a limited company with its registered seat in Zürich, Switzerland. Rudolf Santschi is the CEO.

Since its foundation the company has produced around thirty feature and documentary films for cinema and television. It thereby pursues its philosophy of cooperating with writers and directors, in order to jointly produce film  productions and co-productions of outstanding quality for the Swiss and European market. Both its feature and documentary films focus on people and their emotional journeys, at grasping the audience's attention through moving and involving stories and insights into foreign worlds.
